DAY 1

Tokyo Skytree

It’s the second largest structure in the world mainly used for telecommunications. This tower with a distinctive design truly deserves the visit of thousands of tourists from all over the world.

How could it not be that I was one of them. Lucky me I got to see it and prove it’s magnificent! As I climbed to the top through the themed lifts I felt the typical popping of the ears of those who seem to be rising to the moon.

A segunda maior estrutura do mundo, utilizada para as telecomunicações. Uma torre com um design diferenciador que merece a visita de milhares de turistas.

Como não podia deixar de ser eu fui um deles. Ao subir ao topo através dos elevadores temáticos senti o típico estalar dos ouvidos de quem parece que está a subir à lua!

Already up there I came across with the panoramic view of the city of Tokyo. Ohh and what a picture! As you can imagine I could not stop shooting with my phone and taking million photos! This Tower allows us to have a 360º view of the city. How amazing is that?

Já lá em cima deparamos com a vista panorâmica da cidade de Tokio. Um verdadeiro quadro! Como devem imaginar não consegui parar de tirar fotos aquela vista. Sobretudo porque a Torre permite-nos ter uma visão de 360º sobre a cidade.

Asakusa,

The oldest temple in Tokyo full of architectural details where red and white were the predominant colors

O templo mais antigo de Tóquio cheio de detalhes arquitectónicos onde o vermelho e branco eram as cores predominantes.

Upon arriving we discovered a mega cauldron of incense, surrounded by people spreading smoke through our bodies, as you have that funny moment when you do not know quite well what to do … but eventually you find out later that the Japanese do this ritual to purify themselves before entering the temple.

Ao chegar descobrimos um mega caldeirão de incenso, rodeado de pessoas que espalhavam o fumo pelo corpo, tipo aquele momento engraçado que não sabes bem o que fazer…e que acabas por descobrir mais tarde que os japoneses fazem esse ritual  para purificarem-se antes de entrar no templo.

A very cultural and fun time.

Ginza

Ginza the most luxurious and feminine area of Japan, filled with the best luxury fashion stores. I have completely lost my mind. My favorite was Fendi, a very trendy and colorful decoration.

Ginza a zona mais luxuosa e feminina do Japão, lá encontrei as melhores lojas de moda de luxo. Aquelas que todas nós suspiramos cada vez que entramos. A minha preferida foi a Fendi, uma decoração bem atual e colorida.

Up there the shops stand out not by the windows but by the giant panels placed in the buildings. So cool!

Ali as lojas destacam-se não pelas montras mas pelos painéis gigantes colocados nos edifícios.

 Tokyo Tower

This 333-meter radio tower is a true Eiffel Tower in Japanese

Esta torre de rádio de 333 metros é uma verdadeira Torre Eiffel à Japonês.

DIA 2

Shibuya

Where everything happens in Tokyo.

I have found billboards, giant buildings, shops, lights, sounds and people everywhere. Do you wanna know the highlight? Shibuya Crossing.

The most crowded crossroad in the world. A crowded place where we see a crowd walking down a crosswalk.

This surreal moment occurs due to the five streets with the 8 traffic lights that close at the same time. Due to the train and metro stations that are in front of the crosswalk. More than 3 million people pass there every single day.

I can confess to you one thing, this is such a marking moment, makes me want to be always crossing the road from one side to the other. How crazy?! A creepy feeling that will stay in my memory for forever.

Onde tudo acontece em Tóquio.

Encontramos outdoors, prédios gigantes, lojas, luzes, sons e  pessoas por todo o lado,

E o melhor desta zona é? Shibuya Crossing o cruzamento mais lotado do mundo.

Um lugar lotado onde vemos uma multidão  a atravessar  uma passadeira. Este momento surreal ocorre em função das cinco ruas que se encontram, dos 8 semáforos que fecham ao mesmo tempo e devido às estações de comboio e metro que ficam em frente ao cruzamento.

Por dia passam mais 3 milhões de pessoas neste cruzamento.

Posso confessar-vos uma coisa, este é um momento tão marcando que dá vontade de estar sempre a cruzar a passadeira de um lado para o outro. Uma sensação arrepiante que vai ficar na memória.

Robot Restaurante

 I’ve never seen anything like it, a real live and color cartoon episode.

Nunca vi nada assim, um verdadeiro episódio de desenhos animados ao vivo e a cores.

DIA 3

Mercado Tsukiji

The largest seafood market in the world. Here we can watch the tuna auctions and observe small fish stalls and taverns serving the traditional sushi dishes.

O maior mercado de peixe e frutos do mar do mundo. Aqui podemos  assistir aos leilões de atum e observar pequenas bancas de peixe e tascas onde servem os tradicionais pratos de sushi.

Undoubtedly, the quality and freshness of the fish are the two characteristics that define this market.

Sem dúvida que a qualidade e frescura do peixe são as duas características que definem este mercado.

  Akihabara

The neighborhood of video games.

O bairro dos vídeo jogos.

Pinballs, “maid cafes” are the fever in Akihabara.

This neighborhood takes us to a virtual amusement park.

We find well-known characters that bring us back to our childhood. The game of SEGA, the Moon’s Sailors and the Pikachu were the cartoons that made me vibrate the most.

Este bairro leva-nos a um parque de diversões virtual.

Encontramos personagens bem conhecidas que nos remetem à nossa infância. O jogo da SEGA, as Navegantes da Lua e o Pikachu foram os desenhos animados que mais me fizeram vibrar.

Takeshita  Shop

It is a street with alternative shops, crepe stands, cotton candy and traditional restaurants. This area is fed by the younger layers because of these attractions.

É uma rua com lojas alternativas, bancas de crepes, algodão doce e restaurantes tradicionais. Esta zona é alimentada pelas camadas mais jovens devido a estas atracções.

DIA 4

Chinatown

A neighborhood located in the heart of Yokohama with a large concentration of Chinese.

We find typical China gates scattered around the neighborhood, restaurant and stalls with traditional products.

The most fun was to have lunch in different stands and try the typical dishes. A mixture of smells and tastes that make us travel to China.

Um bairro localizado no coração de Yokohama com uma grande concentração de chineses.

Encontramos portões típicos da China espalhados pelo bairro, restaurante e bancas com produtos tradicionais.

O mais divertido foi almoçar em diferentes bancas e experimentar os pratos típicos.

Uma mistura de cheiros e sabores que nos fazem viajar até a China.

DIA 5

Hamarikyu Garden Tokyo

It is a beautiful and historic park near the Shiodome district where we find small lakes, gardens and traditional houses. A true Zen paradise in the center of the urban jungle of Tokyo, where we can enjoy a delicious hot tea.

É um belo e histórico parque perto do distrito de Shiodome onde encontramos pequenos lagos, jardins e casas tradicionais. Um verdadeiro paraíso zen no centro da selva urbana de Tokyo, onde podemos desfrutar de um delicioso hot tea.
DIA 6

Daikanyama T-site

The Daikanyama T-site neighborhood is a gem! Love at first sight.

With no doubt my favorite district.

This area carries a blend of sophistication and a breath of fresh air.

Esta zona carrega uma mistura de sofisticação e uma lufada de ar fresco.

Super trendy cafes and shops are the main attractions of the area.

The best stop was Tsutaya Books, a space made up of 3 buildings filled with books, magazines and dvds divided by sections.

Cafés e lojas super trendy são as principais atrações da zona.

A melhor paragem foi  Tsutaya Books, um espaço composto por 3 edifícios repletos de livros,revistas e dvds divididos por secções.

In the same space we find a cafe covered with books and a restaurant with a super sophisticated design.

My tip: buy a magazine and have a green tea surrounded by the sound of good music and enjoy the lovely Japanese vibe. You can also have lunch at Ivy Place, a cool and super laid back restaurant.

No mesmo espaço encontramos um Starbucks coberto de livros e um restaurante com um design super sofisticado.

Dica: comprar uma revista e tomar um fracapuccino ao som de uma boa música e apreciar o bom estilo de vida que estes japoneses vivem ou almoçar no Ivy Place, um restaurante cool e super descontraído.
