The 4 FW17 major trends that are going to live during our SS18

Cláudia Diniz

Fashion is cyclic, so you know that a lot of the precious pieces that we all have in our closet may find the need (or instead, obligation) to stay put. In other words, we should all lay low when it comes to acknowledge that we are owe some pieces that may not be suited for a specific season.

Yes, we should follow our own instinct and be all about us and our own personality – true – , so you you can maintain a little bit of your stubbornness if you will, but I think I might be helpful if I share with the trend that are (most definitely) to stay during our beloved 2018.

So, yes, you must have had shopped something that you make your money (and time, that you)worth something

1) Kira Kira friendly pieces – New must-have alert girls, sequins are not (anymore) so 2018 or a New Year’s Eve exclusive. Actually, sheer materials and sequins detailed pieces are going to be alive during the next few months (at least), so you better let Spring inspire you and allow that sort sparkly side of you to blossom. Valentino said so.

2) All denim everything – Don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with denim. Ok, it is only denim, I know, but the truth is that denim has evolved a lot and now we can have in a infinite range of style, washed and even cuts. From jeans, to jumpsuits to even jackets, denim can bring your casual side to the scene while being classy or conservative. It’s your choice. Dior proved me right by presenting – in a Parisienne way, of course – it’s own interpretation, Ladies, go denim wild.

3) Tartan(ization) – From New York to Milan, we all have quite lived the love story between (well) pretty much every woman and their beloved plaid and/or tartan blazer, pants or even beret. We were living our cold and snowy Fall and Winter, when suddenly our prays were listen to and our investments made all sense. The confirmation was given by Marni and Christopher Kane, as seen on the runway at Milan Fashion Week. Ok, they are brighter and a lot more colorful, but the thing is, our sixth sense was super accurate.

4) Millennial Pink at full speed – Primary color schemes are going to a true hit, basically because of the color blocking (still going on) thing. I must assume that is because of the “polished” touch associated to it, because let’s face it, it looks perfectly and it is so damn Instagram-friendly.

Nevertheless, the color that I should stick to it’s pink (ok, besides baby blue is my true love), because it was so often seen at Mansur Gavriel SS18 New York show and not even Oscar de la Renta was able to not give the right spotlight to this undeniable trend.

So, breathe calmly, your closet is almost intact and not off limits.
